Welcome to House on Cora, your Hill Country oasis in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas. We’re Shawn and Lauren Sparks, and we’re thrilled to share a little about who we are and what inspired this peaceful getaway.
We live in the suburbs of Houston with our four boys, whose ages span from toddler to adult, along with our tiny but spirited Yorkie, Buttercup. Life at home is always moving, but creating meaningful, memorable guest experiences is something we truly love. For over a decade, hospitality has been at the heart of what we do, and House on Cora has become a special extension of that passion.
In Texas, we own and operate two elegant wedding venues, Sandlewood Manor and Chateau Nouvelle. There, we’ve had the honor of serving countless couples on one of the most important days of their lives. Those years of thoughtful service, attention to detail, and heartfelt connection have shaped how we approach every guest who stays with us. We bring that same dedication to House on Cora, striving to make each visit relaxing, seamless, and unforgettable.
We are also deeply committed to Love for a Lifetime, our nonprofit marriage ministry devoted to nurturing strong, faith-centered relationships. Through events like Date Nights and intimate dinners, we’ve supported couples as they strengthen their marriages. That mission influences everything we do, including the environment we’ve created at House on Cora. Our hope is that this home offers a place to reconnect, unwind, and enjoy meaningful time with the people who matter most.
Our love for Fredericksburg began during a Hill Country getaway, where the charm of Main Street, the warmth of the community, and the peaceful beauty of the landscape instantly captured our hearts.
